A Critical Eye Toward Childrens Furniture

Childrens furniture, for me, boils down to one thing: utility. Even design and superficial things boil down to utility for me. Whatever colors there are on the surface of something, like a bright yellow or something; there’s utility in that. My child’s going to be stimulated by that. So I have to think. Do I want my kid stimulated by this color? When do I want my kid stimulated by this color? Because, for sure, I don’t want my kid to be stimulated all the time. Sometimes, I do need him to go to sleep. Right? Sometimes, you need a kid to just relax. You know? So, you figure this sort of contextual analysis into your decision making processes. You figure out whether or not what the effect of something is, is something you want to be in that space where you plan to place the furniture piece, at what time. For instance, with the bright yellow that might be in the line of sight throughout the night.
