It Probably Won’t Be Easy
Monday, January 16th, 2012
They say that to work in the performing arts industry that you need to have a thick skin. It is an industry when there are often high demands on being fit and healthy in comparison to most other industries. Those working in these industries may be under pressure to stay at a healthy weight and be in good shape by employers, agents and others they may deal with.
In addition to this it is an industry with an awful lot of struggling. Most of the people as you’ve probably heard in these industries are either poor or just getting by, while a smaller number do very well out of it.
There is a lot of rejection in the entertainment biz and only the strong women and men survive. Those that can’t take the pain of rejection or being criticized often don’t reach their goals or quit early because it’s too much to take. The lesson if you’re entering these industries? Work hard at your craft and be a strong person!

Over the Top?
Saturday, January 7th, 2012
I don’t think that the sony omnidirectional microphone is in any way over the top when it comes to where it’s going and where it’s headed. I think that it’s just right, and I think that there are a lot of people out there who don’t really understand yet quite fully why this microphone is so important, and why it’s going to last. That’s my main instinct here at the moment, and that’s also something that I find can generate a lot of enthusiasm for us in the long run. That might not be very beneficial right away, but if you think long and hard about it, I think that you’ll also agree. On the other hand, there are many people out there who still have to see where we’re going, and I think that’s also very important and we need to just keep up the good work when it comes to our music.

Is the Casio WK-200 a Good Buy?
Friday, November 25th, 2011
You might be like me and you might also be wondering if the Casio WK-200 is a really good buy. It seems that it might not be, since it seems to be a lesser version of its bigger brother, the WK-500, but on the other hand, maybe it’s much better because I think that it might be lighter and easier also on the budget? Well, I still have to check my facts on that one. I think that if someone were to give me the WK-200 as a Christmas gift, I’d be pretty content, and pretty happy. Of course, it’s quite pricey for any kind of Christmas gift, but it depends also on who’s giving it. I don’t think that I have many rich friends who are willing to buy this for me as a gift, but who knows. Anyway, I hope that I can check some good reviews of this keyboard soon!

That Does Not Count My Son’s Soccer Fees, My Daughter’s Drum Lesson Cost, and My Husband’s Hobbies
Monday, October 17th, 2011
My kids get more expensive as they get older I promise you this! If you just look at my incoming pay versus my outgoing bills I should be living the lap of luxury. But that does not count my son’s soccer fees, my daughter’s drum lesson cost, and my husband’s hobbies which include alot of woodworking and mechanics. Those are not included in the bills, but they need to be aid regardless.
I have tried to cut down a little at least. I do have an idea for my daughter at least. I am going to stop the $100 per lesson private instructor coming to the house for her drum lessons and she will start taking video drum lessons for a fraction of the cost. She knows enough now to where she can elf teach herself and there are helpful forums and instruction if she does need it after all.

Why I Don’t Care for Portability
Wednesday, September 21st, 2011
If you’re looking for a portable digital piano that has a beautiful grand piano sound, then read this Yamaha NP30 review before purchasing it. I personally do not care for portability. If you don’t care about portability, get the Korg SP-250.
I know so many people who look into portability as one of the determining factors of getting a digital piano. To them, I ask, “Why?” Why do you put so much thought into portability? Do you actually take these digital pianos to other places? If so, where?
As for me, I don’t take my digital pianos anywhere. I leave them in my room, and they stay there 99% of the time. I would think that this is the case for most people. If I just happen to take my digital piano somewhere, I don’t need a super light digital piano because it would only happen on rare occasions. The piano could be 40 pounds, and I simply would not care. I am willing to sacrifice one day of with a 40-pound digital piano than a lifetime without one.
Sure, if the two digital pianos were the exact same except in weight, having a light one is nice. However, most of the time, companies have to sacrifice key aspects of the digital pianos to make them so light. For example, the Yamaha NP30 does not have fully weighted keys. On the other hand, my Korg SP-250 has some of the best weighted and graded keys in entire piano business. The Yamaha NP30 does not have speakers. My Korg SP-250 has speakers, although they aren’t great.
That’s why I don’t really care for portability. The feel of the keys or the sound of the grand piano “weighs” much more in my decision-making process. Overall, having these non-portable aspects should be much more important than having a light digital piano.

The Music Teachers Came to Me with the Idea of Administering a Guitar Lesson Dvd Course
Saturday, July 16th, 2011
Being the principal of a charter school is not the same as being a principal of a regular elementary school. A lot of the programs are ran by the teachers and the parents as well is funded by the teachers and the parents. So when one of the music teachers came to me with the idea of administering a guitar lesson dvd course for 30 min. Every other day I thought it was a wonderful idea.
This was a program that she has been working on at home herself and has done a wonderful job with it. Now she wants to reach out and also give the opportunity to a few of the children that are interested in learning the guitar along with her. It did not take long to get the sign-up list full she only wanted to take five children at a time, which is fine. Six months later her program is a success and many of the parents are now backing her program as well with funds and equipment so we can keep it open.

Overstated, No Overblown
Thursday, July 14th, 2011
It might be accepted for a composer to overstate his musical ideas, but all care should be taken not to overblow the situation. Audiences enjoy a rousing chorus or a loud series of musical statements, but they hardly enjoy a long blast of loud music. Music that is overblown grows wearisome. After time, the ear becomes so adjusted to the noise, it blocks it out. This is true for a symphony or even for christmas music for orchestra. Composers must follow the axiom that too much of anything can go too far. If the music remains fortissimo for too long, it would have to proceed to forte-fortissimo to re-engage the audience. Why not let the music become soft, then return to fortissimo? This way, the second fortissimo almost attains a higher dynamic level than the first fortissimo. Loud, brass statements are unhealthy for the ear. A number of orchestras actually place noise bafflers in front of the brass section.

No Batteries Came with Miniature Electric Guitar
Friday, May 13th, 2011
I was not impressed when I got home from the shops today and opened my miniature electric guitar that there were no batteries with it. I asked the guy in the store if I needed to buy and batteries and he said no because they were included and there is also a huge red and yellow sticker on the box to confirm that this should in fact be the case. I have searched the house high and low to see if we have the right sized batteries and typically of course we do but they are dead and not ones that can be re-charged. I am now going to have to take a trip to the store to get some and that is a half hour drive there and back because we live out in the countryside. I will be going back to that store for my money back in the week as this is a very big let down on their part.

Good or Bad You Can Sing
Monday, March 14th, 2011
You may have asked the question for several times and you may find the answer unacceptable, but indeed can anyone learn to sing?
Indeed, anybody can learn to sing. You may not become a superstar, or a popular singer but you can learn how to hit a tune once or twice. If you’re a fan of any talent shows such as the American Idol or any singing shows in particular, it may seem like there are some who are indeed gifted with such a great voice. Although some may endure with a lesser stellar ear as well as vocal ability, however, you may not realize this but those singers have indeed spent countless time as well as effort just to be able to sing that good.
So, as to the question can anyone learn how to sing? Yes, anyone and anybody for that matter can actually sing. It doesn’t matter if you get to be popular or not. Whether you’ll be good at it or not, the question can still be answered by YES.
